Abstract

Within the monetary system of the CMEA, the following exchange rate categories prevail:

  1. 1.

    Exchange rates of convertible currencies expressed in transferable roubles;

  2. 2.

    Exchange rates of the national currencies of CMEA member countries expressed in transferable roubles;

  3. 3.

    Exchange rates of the currencies of CMEA member countries used for settling non-commercial payments;

  4. 4.

    The exchange coefficient between the Soviet rouble (of domestic purchasing power in the sphere of consumer goods) and the transferable rouble.
