Abstract
The Saria area, 12° north, in the northern part of the Guinea-Sudanese land, at an altitude of 300 m, has a mean annual 800-850 mm rainfall. The precipitation concentrated from late May till October and above all the importance of diurnal evapotranspiration throughout the dry season (with a temperature always above 35°C in the hottest hours) result in a vegetation with a very marked seasonal rhythm.
