Abstract
The importance of legumes as food and fodder is now fully recognized, and this provided the basis for the work of the International Symposium on the Ecology of Legume Bruchids, organized in Tours by the Institut de Biocénotique Expérimentale des Agrosystèmes (IBEAS), of the French National Centre of Scientific Research (CNRS) and by the Université François Rabelais, in collaboration with the International Organization for Biological Control (IOBC) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
