Book cover Steroid Analysis

Abstract

In plants, steroids play an important role as constituents of cell membranes, insect deterrents, and growth hormones. Steroids extracted from plants have been used in traditional medicine and some of these, like the Digitalis steroids, are still important and valuable drugs. For this chapter, a selection has been made that illustrates the different analytical methods used in this field.
