Abstract

The Parabola, Ellipse, and Hyperbola will be considered in this chapter primarily as plane curves generated by a point moving under restricted conditions; they will, however, be defined first with reference to the right circular cone of which they are plane sections.* Sectioned models of the cone should be examined if possible.
