Abstract
The aim of this book was to bring to the knowledge of the scientific community the work performed by a consortium of 20 European partners, including industrials, research organizations and Universities. As was illustrated by this contribution, PIV is now a well established measurement technique which is able to bring significant progress both to fundamental and applied Fluid Mechanics.
