Abstract
In the world of meanings there exists a semantical hierarchy according to which on a higher level some words belong to the aristocracy because the subjacent concepts are issued from superior standards of thinking. Like in the evolution of the social aristocracy, it may happen in certain circumstances that the lexical translation of the semantical aristocracy suffers a degradation in spite of the conserved linguistic cloth. This was the case of terms like democracy or science during the communist tyranny. Therefore it is useful to describe accurately the semantical evolution of a term before analysing the subjacent concept.
