Abstract
The regulatory regime governing inshore fisheries embraces aspects of institutional organisation — comprising organisational forms, institutional linkages and decision making procedures — together with the measures and approaches utilised for the implementation, monitoring and enforcement of management policy. These components represent some of the key determining factors in the success or failure of fisheries management.
