Entomopathogenic Bacteria: from Laboratory to Field Application

Abstract

The entomopathogenic bacteria have been used commercially as microbial pesticides for decades. Their success is the result of continued improvement in fermentation and formulation technology and to a lesser extent to genetic manipulation of the toxins produced by these organisms. This chapter discusses current fermentation and formulation techniques used in industry.
