Abstract
The family Coccinellidae belongs to the superfamily Cucujoidea of the Coleoptera suborder Polyphaga, and is a member of the phylogenetic branch frequently referred to as the Cerylonid complex of families, which is composed of Cerylonidae, Discolomidae, Alexiidae, Corylophidae, Endomychidae (s. lat. incl. Mychotheninae, Eidoreinae and Merophysiinae) and Lathridiidae.
