Abstract

As a non-nuclear-weapon state, Finland cannot contribute much to the specific task of dismantling nuclear weapons. Finnish nuclear expertise is exclusively related to civilian use of nuclear technology. Major efforts have been devoted in our country to developing competence and to creating methods for adequate nuclear waste management. As there is no real difference between civilian and military nuclear waste, we believe that Finland could contribute to solving problems related to both.
