Abstract

“Climate, even under its natural development alone, varies continually. Each year, each decade, each century, each millennium, since long before any question of impact of human activity, has produced a somewhat different record” (Lamb 1984, p. 25). To this temporal variation we may add the spatial variation which complicates any attempt at synthesis in the course of a given period of time.
