Summary

Five Brachinus species (B. bipustulatus Quensel, B. explodens Duftschmid, B. gaglbaueri Apfelbeck, B. nigricornis Gebler, B. plagiatus Reiche) were collected using pitfall traps in alkaline, salty and loess grassland habitats.

Soil and vegetational factors of the habitat sites were analysed.

The maximum seasonal activity of the Brachinus species was in May and June.

The indicator values of the occurring Brachinus species are given on the basis of comparing the characteristics of the habitats.
