Abstract
Fibered Seifert manifolds are a very important class of 3-manifolds. There are two reasons for that. First, the class of Seifert manifolds is very wide. If on a sheet of paper we draw the Heegaard diagram of some three-dimensional manifold, this is almost sure to be a Seifert manifold. The point is that on a sheet of paper we can only draw not very complicated diagrams, and all such diagrams define either Seifert manifolds or their connected sums.
