Abstract

Transport is a personal activity, a social service, and an industry which constitutes one of the most important activities of man in every stage of his civilisation. No nation could, indeed, afford to overlook the crucial role of transport in economic development at the national and regional levels as well as in the expansion of international trade. Today efforts have been made to explain regional imbalance in terms of infrastructure of which transport is a vital component. The impact and counter impact of each different type of transport facility may also be different in the same region from time to time.
