Abstract

In this chapter we reflect on the trends in research in science education that we saw in the papers delivered at the 2001 meeting of the European Science Education Research Association. Each reflection has a particular focus. Richard White compared the ESERA papers with the trends that he identified in his analysis of English-language research from 1975 to 1995, Hans E. Fischer commented on the papers in the light of developments in science education in Europe, and Eleni Stavridou summarised the papers on chemical education and on Information and Communication Technologies.
