Abstract
Whenever we ask the question “When is knowledge shared?”, we notice that in almost all the companies that were researched management plays a proactive role. Proactive in this context means that organizations initiate knowledge-sharing based in particular on the opportunities that they see for themselves. Initiatives for knowledge-sharing are often based on the idea that this will create opportunities rather than on the idea that they fit in with a predominant need or problem situation.
