Abstract

We define the invariant spectra of rotation angles and twist angles (angular dynamical spectra) and their moments (angular moments) in a 2D Poincaré map. The angular moments give the main frequencies around a stable fixed point of period 1 or higher. We give examples from the standard map. In particular we find the resonant structure (the location of islands, their frequencies, chaotic zones, and noble tori or cantori) near the last KAM curve.
