Timescales of Optical Continuum Variability in NGC4151

Abstract

Certain aspects of the nature of the AGN continuum source could, potentially, be revealed through the study of the characteristics of the temporal variations themselves. In this context, carrying out an ongoing long term systematic monitoring programme in the optical domain; we briefly report on 10 years’ worth of broad-band photometry of the low intrinsic luminosity Seyfert NGC4151.
