Abstract
From the very beginning of this book, we have been stressing the importance of being nonlinear. However, when dealing with real materials, this is not the only property to be taken into account. In general terms, there are two wide classes of effects, influencing wave propagation:
-
(i)
space-dependent effects;
-
(ii)
time-dependent effects.
Beautiful are the things we see, More beautiful those we understand, Much the most beautiful those we do not comprehend. Unknown author, translated from Latin by A.Pais
