The Uncertainties of Policy with regard to the Family

  • Chapter
The European Family

Abstract

Over the last decades, family policy in Europe has been defined, when viewed as a process, by its growing complexity. When viewed as a product, however, points of convergence as well as differences become apparent. In this short overview of current trends, attention will be given to certain aspects of the general context in which these developments occur, to family policy as a process and to family policy as a product.
