Summary
Health information dissemination is characterized by a nearly exclusive production from industrialized countries. Health research and publications in developing countries rarely reach the famous Science Citation Index considered by many as the international bible of scientific journals. Over recent years, the International Children’s Centrer (ICC) is engaged in an information exchange program with documentation centers in developing countries. ICC’s database on children carries a good proportion of publication references from these partner countries. This is a possible approach to a better and more objective information provided to health personnel worldwide.
