Effects of Fire on the Regeneration of Larch Forests in the Lake Baikal Basin

  • Chapter
Fire in Ecosystems of Boreal Eurasia

Part of the book series: Forestry Sciences ((FOSC,volume 48))

Abstract

Forest fires play the role of an ecological factor in the process of forming and functioning of forest ecosystems by determining the rates and direction of their stand development. The most fundamental pyrogenic influences are during the initial stages of forest regeneration.
