Abstract
One of the points of comparison raised in this study is the extent to which each moralist’s work depends upon theological insights or beliefs in making moral claims — or, in other words, the extent to which each considers his applied ethics to be “distinctively Christian.” We have seen genuine variety, both in their views about theological sources for moral knowledge and in their assessments of which theological themes or concepts should be central to our understanding of moral life.
