Abstract
Physicians do not represent a morally or ethically homogeneous group. Although the education and training may be structured similarly, the experience of that training and the motives, purpose, and rewards for pursuing a medical career are highly individualized. Each physician interprets his or her role differently: some as“healers”; some as“care providers.”
