Abstract
Geographically, eastern Africa includes Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and the southern Sudan (Fig. 1) . It lies within the equatorial or tropical climatic zones (Fig. 3) and embodies complex phytochoria centered around the Lake Victoria regional mozaic. To the north of Lake Victoria the regional mozaic grades into the Sudanian regional center, and to the east into the Somalia-Masai center of endemism. Under the influence of the Indian Ocean along the eastern coast, the flora is typical Zibar-Inhambane transition zone.
