A New Method of Starch Production from Potatoes

  • Chapter
Hydrocyclones

Part of the book series: Fluid Mechanics and Its Applications ((FMIA,volume 12))

Summary

After a short introduction a pilot installation of multihydrocyclones for research of starch extraction process from pulp of mashed potatoes has been described.

Design solutions of new types hydrocyclones and multi-hydrocyclones as well as bihydrocyclones are presented. The scope of conducted research is discussed and some results obtained during several potatoes compaigns are given. On the base of these results a new method of starch production from potatoes is made know.
