Abstract
The very suggestive character of Morgan’s theory concerning the basis of heritable characteristics contains the danger that the morphological aspect of it may be accentuated too much and that too much attention may be given to the localization, and too little to the nature of these factors. The physiological side of the question is not taken into consideration at all.
