Abstract
Herr Adenauer, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, has recently made several statements to correspondents of British newspapers in which he has touched, in particular, on the question of West Berlin. In his pronouncements Herr Adenauer has tried to present the case as though the problem of West Berlin were that of perpetuating the rights of the three western powers occupying this city, and of virtually “defending” West Berlin from alleged encroachments upon its freedom.
