The European Commission of Human Rights

Abstract

The term of office of seven of the members of the European Commission of Human Rights expired on 17th May 1960. A list of candidates prepared by the Bureau of the Consultative Assembly 1 was submitted to the Committee of Ministers who, on 28th April 1 960, re-elected the following for a period of six years : Mrs. G. Janssen-Pevtschin, MM. M. Sørensen, A. Süstesterhenn, C. Th. Eustathiades, L. J. C. Beaufort, Sir Humphrey Waldock. In place of Mr. P. Berg, who had not offered himself for re-election, the Ministers elected Mr. F. Castberg.²

Le mandat de sept membres de la Commission Européenne des Droits de l’Homme est venu à expiration le 17 mai 1960. Le Comité des Ministres, saisi de la liste de candidats dressée par le Bureau de l’Assemblée Consultative,1 a, le 28 avril 1960, réélu pour une période de six ans, Mme G. Janssen-Pevtschin, MM. M. Sørensen, A. Süsterhenn, C. Th. Eustathiades, L. J. C. Beaufort et C. H. M. Waldock. A la place de M. P. Berg qui n’a pas posé sa candidature, le Comité des Ministres a élu M. F. Castberg.²
