Abstract

Good records and record-keeping are as important as accuracy of analysis in the cellars. The records in a small winery laboratory are the first line of data that the ATF and other authorities will demand in the course of inspection. These records are important internally, as well, providing the basis for processing, production and marketing decisions. Data recording is imperative for administrative reports to monitor economic efficiency. A winery cannot function effectively without a sound system of records.
