Abstract
Since solar energy has gained a lot of interest, it was felt that there was a need for a computer program, capable of predicting the performance of any solar system with a good accuracy and a well known uncertainty interval for every system and for every European climat. The Solar Pilot Test Facility Group has been created in order to provide detailed measurements of the behaviour of solar systems, and the European Modelling Group has been created to develop a reliable computer simulation model, calibrated against the PTF-data.
