Abstract
Recall that a topological group is a group G together with a topological space structure such that the maps G × G→G, (x,y)↦xy and G→G, x↦x-1 are continuous. In what follows all homomorphisms of topological groups are assumed to be continuous. As a rule, only locally compact abelian groups will be considered and additive notation will be used for the group operation.
