Abstract
This chapter deals with the fundamental building blocks of solipsism — sensations and images. While no one denies the occurrence of these entities, there has been a great deal of controversy about their status. Since much of this controversy has concerned the sense-datum theory either explicitly or implicitly, we must try to isolate the confused as well as the correct elements in that theory.
