Abstract
The charter of Rĕnĕk is a legal instrument, a deed of assignment concerning some lands originally belonging to the Family of Rĕnĕk, at some time taken by the laird of Tambak, and now ordered to be returned to the original owners. It is interesting i.a. because it was issued not by the King but by the Prince of Wĕngkĕr, whose activities in the field of land law are known from the Nāgara-Kĕrtāgama. The differences in idiom and spelling noticeable between this Princely charter and the Royal charters drawn up by the highest Court officials have been pointed out in the Notes in vol. II of the present book.
