Abstract
To place a discussion of ethics last in a symposium is to invite several wrong assumptions. One wrong assumption is that ethics does not matter. This would be wrong. Moral claims cannot be discerned until all the empirical features of a case are exposed. Another is that practitioners, the people we have heard for two days, read technical papers only, innocent of ethics. That would be wrong also. There are ethical judgements written into most of them, implicit if not always explicit.
