Abstract

Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) is now established as a major modality for the management of chronic renal failure1. It has proved suitable as a medium-term treatment for the majority of patients, and as a long-term treatment for those patients for whom haemodialysis is either impracticable or contra-indicated including the young, elderly and those with diabetes mellitus.
