Abstract
The contact angle between fiber and unsaturated polyester was decreased from 51.8° to 39.5° when the surface of glass fiber was treated by bis[γ-(triethoxy silyl) propyl carbonyloxy] biethylene glycol (ESPCEG), which has increased their wettability. With treated glass fiber to make specimens of CFRP, because of the toughress of interfacial layer and the IPN structure for formation, the tensile strength was increased (increas by 11.9%) and also was the impact strength (increase by 17.3%).
