Abstract
As with other coal utilisation processes, economics will be decisive in determining the degree of exploitation of a technically feasible operation. In the case of Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) there are several important economic questions:
-
(1)
How does UCG compare with other methods of exploiting coal resources?
-
(2)
How does UCG compare with other energy sources?
-
(3)
Which are the most economic UCG processes in various circumstances?
