Abstract

Within the field of animal husbandry it is now widely accepted that improved performance, as determined, e.g. by more rapid growth and healthier animals, results from dietary levels of vitamin intake that are in excess of the minimum required for apparent health (Figure 4). This is particularly noticeable when growth rates are used as the basis for assessment.
