The menopausal period is characterized by several symptoms, such as labile temperature control, vasodilatation with flushing, lowered pain threshold and osteoporosis1, which may be correlated with either an excessive production of endogenous prostaglandins or with an alteration of the ratio among the different prostaglandins in the brain or in the sexual organs.
