Abstract

A CAD system can, as we have seen, consist of anything from a single microcomputer equipped with some special-purpose software and costing, perhaps, no more than a couple of thousand pounds in all, to a multimillion-pound installation. The main purpose of the feasibility study, assuming that it confirms that there is a need and a role for CAD in the business, is to narrow down this immense field of choice and to define what the proposed system will be used for, who will use it, and what will be required of it.
