Abstract
An accurate, fast, high-resolution vision system greatly improves the robot’s versatility, speed, and accuracy for its complex tasks. For example, during welding the robot might have to follow curved seams, during assembly the robot often selects the appropriate part and installs it, and during inspection the robot verifies that previous manufacturing steps were performed correctly.
