If your purpose in reading this book was just to become acquainted with the purpose and power of Operational Research techniques, we hope that you have now gained this understanding. If you are a manager who wished to improve the performance of his company by using operational research techniques, we hope that we have shown how this may be done. If you are a young student interested to know whether operational research offers a rewarding career for you, we hope that we have conveyed some of the excitement and scope of operational research as a profession.
