Abstract

This overview attempts to give the explorationist the background necessary to understand the general strategic planning process. This chapter is not an attempt to exhaust all aspects of strategic planning. Many textbooks and articles have been written on strategic planning. The reading list at the end of this chapter suggests some additional material that may be helpful to those who wish to pursue the subject.
