The Current Status of Cardiac Surgery

Abstract

As yet a haemodynamically correct heart valve substitute has not been found. No prosthetic valve, so far, fulfils all the ideal requirements, and therefore tissue valve grafts with their haemodynamic advantages and non-thrombogenic properties deserve study as an alternative procedure.
