Abstract

One of the difficulties that arises in the study of massive sulphide deposits is that they are frequently affected by post-depositional processes (see for example Noranda, Skorovas or Broken Hill). The interpretaton of the origin of these deposits depends very much on examples that are in a relatively fresh state; in the case of copper-pyrite deposits the best examples are those found on the flanks of the Trudos Mountains. There are other examples of this type of deposit, at Küre and Ergani in Turkey, and at Betts Cove at Halls Bay in Newfoundland.
