  • Chapter

Abstract

Development of synthetic vitamin A derivatives (synthetic retinoids) for prophylaxis and treatment of epithelial neoplasia has been underway for the last 10 years;1–14 since 1971, retinoids have been reported to be effective as both prophylactic and therapeutic agents in experimental skin cancers.
