Systematic Intervention with Disturbed Children

Abstract

This chapter is focused on the ways that psychologists have used the concept of “ecology” to bring about an understanding of the complexity of human de velopment and relationships, and emotional disturbance and intervention. First we attend to the theory of ecological psychology and the concept of emotional disturbance. Implications for intervention then are drawn, followed by descriptions of ecological intervention programs.
