Psychological Assessment of Chronic Pain

  • Chapter

Abstract

The variety and complexity of etiological factors that give rise to a chronic pain condition frequently make assessment inexact. Psychological theories and procedures that improve the quality of assessment are discussed in this chapter. In addition, information is provided on integrating assessment data. The final section covers future directions in the psychological assessment of chronic pain.
